Unfortunately there are many parasites and diseases, which affect stray animals and neglected animals. This is usually why the dogs are skinny or weak and their overall appearance is poor. The only way to know for sure, if a dog or a cat has an underlying problem, is to take blood tests. Thats why we want to test all the animals as they come in, as well as the old ones, who show signs of a problem. Too often we lack the funds to do this, but if we can get enough donations, we can prevent more efficiently parasites from spreading and ensure, that a sick dog is treated as soon as possible.
